Vives Advances in Singles, Doubles With Gamble in Florida

Diego Vives won twice in singles and teamed with senior classmate Luke Gamble to win twice in doubles as the Lakewood Ranch Invitational clay-court event got underway Friday in Sarasota, Fla.
Vives beat Louisville's Clement Filho and George Washington's Chris Reynolds, both in straight sets, to advance to a quarterfinal match tomorrow against second-seeded Carter Lin of Michigan. In doubles, Vives and Gamble beat Illinois' Vuk Budic and Noe Khlif before getting a win over Central Florida's Daniel Kerznerman and Enrique Paya to set up a semifinal match with Michigan's Lin and Mattias Siimar.
Gamble and fellow senior Ben Tso are still going in the consolation singles bracket with Tso to face George Washington's Christopher Fletcher and Gamble to go against UCF's Kerznerman in their consolation quarterfinals Saturday.
Saturday's play will begin at 9 a.m. for one round of doubles followed by two rounds of singles. Princeton's results from Friday are below and updated draws are available here.
