Steele Lights Up VIllanova Wildcat Invitational

Senior Elisa Steele put on a show today for Princeton track in Staten Island today at the Villanova Wildcats Invitational. She won the 400 at 55.45 in a race that featured 37 total competitors with the fourth-best time in program history. Following the 400 she posted a personal best of 24.85 in the 200 to finish third, and again did in the fourth fastest time in school history.
Alongside Steele in the 400 was freshmen Heide Baron who was third overall at 56.86 and freshman Ashley Willingham sixth at 57.66. Carly Bonnet ran a PR in the event as well at 58.35. Junior Christina Walter followed Steele in the 200 at 25.07 for seventh place, while Willingham took 10th at 25.42 and Baron 11th at 25.76.
In the mile, sophomore Madison Offstein ran the second-fastest time at 4:58.39. Offstein was just edged by Monmouth's Molly McKeon at 4:58.15. Classmate Mim Buscher was fourth with a PR of 5:04.47.
In the final middle distance race of the evening, the 800, sophomore Anna Jurew took seventh with a time of 2:12.90.
Junior Melinda Renuart and senior Nicole Marvin finished 10th and 11th overall in the 3,000. Renuart posted a time of 10:00.42, while Martin crossed the line at 10:02.83.
In the center of the oval, senior Allison Harris had another spectacular meet, yet again winning the pole vault. She did it in dominant fashion clearing 4.15 for the second time this season, while the next best mark was 3.75.
Sophomore Nnenna Ibe cleared 1.70 in the high jump to take third place overall. Freshman Hadley Wilhoite made it over 1.65 for eighth place.
In the weight throw, freshman Ellen Scott-Young threw to 15.03 for eighth place, while senior Ariel Becker took 10th in the long jump at 5.25.
Princeton has two more meets before the Ivy League Heptagonal Championship. Next up is the Fasttrack Invite back in Staten Island next Friday, Feb. 10.
