Danny Hoy '16 Signs Minor League Contract With New York Mets

PRINCETON, N.J . – Former Tiger Danny Hoy '16 recently signed a minor-league contract with the New York Mets.
Hoy recently spent time with Schaumburg Boomers of the independent Frontier League in 2016. He picked up his second career first team All-Ivy accolade during his senior season after finishing in the conference's top ten in runs (41), hits (55), doubles (11), home runs (five), RBI (28), total bases (81), stolen bases (nine), batting average (.322) and slugging percentage (.474).
After beginning the campaign with a .235 batting average during the month of March, the second baseman was lights out in April, boasting a .398/.474/.614 slash line. In his 20 conference games, Hoy scored 26 times, smashed 11 extra-base hits and hit .403 while slugging .639 and getting on base at a .482 clip. The Princeton graduate was also named to the Lafayette Regional All-Tournament team.
The Sellersville, Pa., native had a sparkling career as a Tiger as he finished with a .306 average, 111 runs scored, 67 extra-base hits and 90 RBI. His name is all over the program's record book as he is second in extra-base hits, third in doubles (47), fifth in total bases (288), sixth in at-bats (604) and assists (372), tied for seventh in runs, eighth in hits (185), ninth in home runs (16) and 10th in games played (159).
