No. 11 Tigers Earn Two Victories Behind Wan's Seven Combined Goals

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The No. 11 Princeton Tigers finished up the Roadrunner Invitational with two victories, a 7-3 decision over the No. 22 CSU Bakersfield Roadrunners and an 11-8 result over the Cal State East Bay Pioneers.

The Olympic Gold Medalist, Ashleigh Johnson, was the star of the show as she made 18 saves on 22 Roadrunners' shots. Wan had her second consecutive hat trick with a four-goal outing to lead the Tigers' offense. Princeton stole 13 passes and drew seven ejections highlighted by Morgan Hallock's four.
Ashleigh Johnson posted a scoreless first quarter as the Tigers led 1-0 after eight minutes. The senior had eight saves in the first half with Princeton taking 4-1 advantage into halftime. Johnson put on another sparkling performance in the second half, stopping 10 shots including seven in the final quarter as she allowed less than four goals for the fifth time this season.

Lindsey Kelleher led the team with a seven-point performance (two goals, five assists). Ashleigh Johnson made nine saves in the victory.
Similar to the first game of the day, the Tigers ran out to a 4-1 lead after two quarters. Princeton put away the contest with a four-goal third quarter as it led 9-2 after 24 minutes. The Pioneers scored six times in the fourth period, but didn't threaten the Tigers.
