The Princeton men's lacrosse team brings an 8-9 record against Johns Hopkins this century into the 2017 edition of the rivalry.
Included in those eight wins is exactly one in Princeton. That was back in 2001, the year that Princeton won the most recent of its six NCAA championships.
Princeton's other seven wins during that time have all come in Baltimore - with five at Homewood Field and two at M&T Bank Stadium.
In fact, the home team in this series is 4-9 since 2000. Last year's win by the Blue Jays in Baltimore was the first win by the home team (excluding the four neutral site games from 2007-10) since 2004.

Princeton and Johns Hopkins meet for the 87th time.
Johns Hopkins leads the all-time series 57-29, including a 24-game winning streak from 1967-90. Princeton is 17-12 against Hopkins since the streak was snapped in the 1990 NCAA tournament, which was also the first NCAA win in Princeton history. The Tigers are 3-0 against Hopkins in NCAA tournament games.
Princeton and Hopkins first played in 1892, with a 3-2 Princeton win that was the only game the teams played until they met again in 1930. The teams would play in 1931 and 1932, not play from 1933-36 and then play again every year since except for 1944.
* * *
The 2017 game will be the first against Johns Hopkins as Princeton head coach for Matt Madalon, who was the interim head coach for the last five games of last year and is now in his first full season as head coach.
Madalon is a member of the Roanoke athletic Hall of Fame and is a former MajorLeague Lacrosse goalie.
