Alarie Ties Princeton Record, Wins Ninth Ivy Rookie Honor

PRINCETON, N.J. – Bella Alarie tied a Princeton program record as she was honored as the Ivy League Rookie of the Week for the ninth time this season, the conference announced today.

Alarie's nine accolades ties her with Niveen Rasheed '13, who registered nine Rookie of the Week awards in 2010, one shy of the Ivy record.

The freshman was nearly perfect against Harvard on Friday, going 6-of-8 from the floor (75.0 percent) for a team-high 16 points. Alarie grabbed nine rebounds, dished out three assists and stole two passes as well. With the victory, Princeton clinched the No. 2 seed in the Ivy League Tournament.

On Saturday, the Bethesda, Md., native collected her sixth double-double of the season with 12 points and 12 rebounds in a close loss to Dartmouth. She grabbed a season-high six offensive rebounds and stole a pass in the game.

Princeton will wrap up the regular season tomorrow at Penn. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. and will be featured on the Ivy League Digital Network and Comcast Sportsnet in Philadelphia.
