Seventh-Ranked Open Women End Long Road Stretch At Dartmouth
April 20, 2017 | Women's Rowing - Open
Princeton knew that it would face several tests through the month of April as it competed four straight weeks on the road, though nothing was quite like last weekend on the Housatonic River. A tough Yale squad won four of five races during the morning, though the Tiger varsity eight retained the Eisenberg Cup by taking a thriller over the Bulldogs.
That was Week 3 of this four-week road show. Week 4 brings Princeton to the Connecticut River, where the Tigers will face Dartmouth for their last races of the spring outside of New Jersey.
This race has traditionally been The Class of 1984 Plaque regatta, and it has included Penn, but a scheduling issue has kept the Quakers at home. Instead, Princeton will host Penn, Iowa and Syracuse next Saturday morning on Lake Carnegie.
Princeton moved to #7 in the latest USRowing/CRCA Coaches Poll, though the Tigers remain the lone undefeated V8 in the league. That position wasn't secure until a late sprint held off a Yale charge last Saturday.
Princeton takes on Dartmouth, which fell to Syracuse and Harvard last week, during a mixed Saturday morning with the Big Green and Brown heavyweights. The women will race at 8:30 (3V), 9 (V4B), 9:30 (V4A), 10 (2V), and 10:30 (1V), while the men's races will happen every 15 minutes between the women's races.
All rowing spectators must park at the Dartmouth Rugby Clubhouse (9 Reservoir Road, Hanover, New Hampshire). A continuous shuttle service will transport spectators to the viewing area/finish line starting at 7:45 a.m. No parking or drop-off is available at the finish line.
