Davis Named PING All-Region Honoree
May 27, 2017 | Men's Golf
Princeton junior Michael Davis has been named one of 25 PING All-Northeast Region honorees, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced Saturday.
A two-time All-Ivy Leaguer and a second-teamer this season, Davis lowered his stroke average from 75.09 as a sophomore to 72.96 as a junior. He competed in all nine events with the Tigers this season and led the team at the Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational in Hawaii in the fall and at the Princeton Invitational in the spring, recording his highest finish of the year at the home tournament by tying for third. He followed that with another top-10 finish at the Ivy League Championships, tying for sixth.
It's the second straight year Princeton has had an honoree in the Northeast, one of the six regions nationally for the award. Quinn Prchal '17, a student assistant coach this season, was a PING all-region selection last year. The complete list of this year's all-region honorees can be found here.
