The final day of the NCAA East Regional was delayed more than an hour because of weather but it didn't dampen senior Katie Hanss in the first individual women's event on the track.
Hanss shaved nearly four seconds off her first-round time in the 1500 clocking a 4:20.63 in the quarterfinal race. It is her second fastest time of the season, and of her career, next to the 4:19.68 she posted at the Larry Ellis Invitational. Hanss was ninth in heat one and finished 19th overall.
In the 5k, senior Alexandra Markovich posted a time of 17:03.82 to finish 12th in heat 1 but will not advance.
Princeton qualified two for the NCAA Championships with Julia Ratcliffe in the hammer throw and Allison Harris in the pole vault.
