2017 Schedule
PRINCETON, N.J. – After reaching the Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) semifinals in 2016, the Princeton Tigers have announced their 2017 schedule.
"After losing in heartbreaking fashion in the NWPC Tournament, this group is ready for the 2017 season," said head coach Luis Nicolao. "With a quality non-conference schedule, we should be more than ready for this tough conference and its postseason."
Princeton opens up the 2017 season at the Navy Invitational (Sept. 2-3) for the third straight year. The Tigers then host the 20th annual Princeton Invitational (Sept. 8-10). Following a week off, the squad travels to the West Coast to participate in a tournament hosted by USC (Sept. 22-24), a national finalist last season.
The final weekend in September begins NWPC play as the Nicolao's unit welcomes Harvard (Sept. 30) before a doubleheader vs. MIT (10 a.m.) and Brown (2:30 p.m.) the next day. A non-conference tilt vs. Wagner at DeNunzio provides fans with another opportunity to see the Tigers before a double dip at Iona (12 p.m.) and St. Francis-Brooklyn (8:00 p.m.) the following week. Princeton heads up to Harvard to battle George Washington, Wagner and Bucknell in the Crimson Invitational (Oct. 14-15).
Princeton gets back on the road as it takes on MIT (11 a.m.) and Harvard (8 p.m.) on Oct. 28 before a meeting at Brown the next day (10 a.m.). The end of the regular season has Iona (Nov. 1) and St. Francis-Brooklyn (Nov. 4) coming to DeNunzio Pool before heading to Harvard for the NWPC Tournament (Nov. 17-19).
