Tigers Face First-Time Opponent SIUE Friday Night

Princeton faces Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) for the first time on Friday, Sept. 15. The game will be the first nightcap for the Tigers, as it will game two of a doubleheader with the women's team, beginning at 7 p.m.
The Tigers are 0-2-1 on the season after opening with a tie at No. 8 Syracuse, followed by a one-goal loss at Colgate and a overtime loss to Seton Hall in the home opener on Thursday. Senior James Reiner scored twice against the Pirates, while junior Jeremy Colvin has three points on a goal and an assist, also coming against Seton Hall. Freshman Frankie DeRosa scored at Syracuse, while senior Daniel Bowkett and sophomore Cole Morokhovich have one assist apiece. Sophomore Jacob Schachner has played every minute in goal and has made 13 saves on 19 shots for a 1.78 goals against average and a .684 save percentage.
After starting the season 0-3, the Cougars have regrouped and have won their last two outings both by shutout. After opening with a 1-0 loss to Michigan State the team dropped a 2-1 game to Syracuse on Aug. 27 - five days before Princeton opened the season with a 1-1 draw with the Orange. The only road game of the season has been a 2-1 loss at Lipscomb before topping Memphis and Valparaiso last week. Sophomore Lachlan McLean leads the offense scoring four of his team's five goals. The other came from sophomore Jorge Gonalez, who also has one assist. Sophomore Eric Tejada has three assists. In goal senior Kyle Dal Santo has allowed five goals on 14 shots for a 0.99 GAA and a .643 save percentage.
