Colina Scores Back-to-Back NWPC Player of the Week Awards

PRINCETON, N.J. – Another week, another Northeast Water Polo Conference Player of the Week award for Jordan Colina.

For the second straight week, Colina was honored with the accolade after helping the Tigers to a 3-1 record at the Princeton Invitational. The senior posted three tallies vs. Johns Hopkins and Santa Clara before tying his career high with six tallies vs. No. 4 UCLA. He also added five steals vs. Johns Hopkins.

Colina leads the team in scoring with 33 points, 24 goals and 20 steals on the season. His 170 career goals are seventh on the all-time list.

Princeton is No. 12 in the latest Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Varsity Poll with a 7-1 record. Last week, Princeton defeated Chapman (15-6) and Johns Hopkins (9-5) on Friday before a victory over Santa Clara (16-9) on Saturday. On Sunday, head coach Luis Nicolao's team dropped a close battle vs. No. 4 UCLA in a game shown on ESPNU.

The men's water polo team will take a week off before traveling to the West Coast for the Mountain Pacific Invitational next week (Sept. 22-24). The Tigers open the invitational vs. No. 6 Long Beach State on Sept. 22 (7:45 p.m. EST, 4:45 p.m. PST).
