First Weekend Comes to a Close for Women's Tennis Team at the Tennis Hall of Fame

Just two singles matches closed the weekend in Rhode Island for the Princeton women's tennis team as the ITA Hall of Fame Grass Court event in Newport, R.I. came to a close.

Senior Katrine Steffensen, who recorded a win over a top-five ranked opponent during Friday's play, nearly pulled off another one against No. 12 Josie Kuhlman of Florida, falling to the Gator in a lengthy tiebreak third set, 4-6, 6-2, (15-13). Freshman Stephanie Schrage, who also picked up a ranked win yesterday, beat LSU's Jessica Golovin 7-5, 4-6, (10-5) to finish her weekend.

The Tigers will head to Penn for next weekend's Cissie Leary Invitational as the fall season continues.
