Princeton Scores Early in 1-1 Draw at BU

BOSTON (9/1917) - Junior Jeremy Colvin struck in the 2nd minute to give Princeton a 1-0 lead, but the Tigers were unable to hang on to the lead as they played to a 1-1 draw with Boston University at Nickerson Field on Tuesday afternoon.
The goal was started with senior Daniel Bowkett setting the ball straight up the middle, where Colvin came sprinting on to score his second tally of the year.

Colvin tried for another less than a minute later with a header as Princeton (0-3-2) dominated the first 70 minutes of the game, outshooting BU 13-3.

The Tigers conceded the tying goal in the 71st minute, just 1:15 after the Terriers got their first shot on goal. Adam Sheikali had the ball near the left touchline and crossed it into the box where Nicki Wieners got a quick head flick on the ball and sent it into the right corner of the goal.

A red card was assessed to Ben Valek with 46 seconds to play in the second half but the goal had already inspired the Terriers who finished the game on an 11-1 shot advantage.

Shots finished even at 14-14, while sophomore Jacob Schachner collecting three saves while William Bonnelyche stopped four shots for BU (1-5-1).

Princeton travels to Fairleigh Dickinson this Saturday, Sept. 23 for a 7 p.m. game. The Tigers return home on Tuesday when they take on in-state rival Rutgers live on ESPNU at 7 p.m., on Myslik Field.
