Princeton looks to begin anew when the Ivy League season gets underway on Saturday at Dartmouth. The Tigers are 1-4-2 on the season and coming off of a 1-0 loss to Rutgers on Tuesday, in which they outshot the Scarlet Knights 19-5. All four of Princeton's losses have been by one goal. The Tigers have been solid in the first half, with all of their goals allowed being post-55th minute. Junior Jeremy Colvin leads the team in scoring with two goals and one assist for five points. Senior James Reiner has also scored twice, while senior Daniel Bowkett has net one goal and two assists. Sophomore Jacob Schachner has a 1.18 goals against average and a .719 save percentage.
Princeton has a 39-22-8 lead in the all-time series, which began in 1922. Last year the teams played to a 2-2 draw in the Ivy opener in Princeton. Noah Paravinci and Tyler Dowse each scored to take a 2-0 lead. Playing with 10 after a card in the 35th, Princeton scored twice to even the game, with Sean McSherry and Brian Costa goals six minutes apart in the 55th and 61st minutes. Princeton's keeper Josh Haberman made a career-high nine saves as Dartmouth had a 24-16 edge in shots.
Dartmouth is 5-2 on the season and on a five-game win streak after dropping its first two games of the season at Michigan State and MIchigan. Six of the seven games have been shutouts, with the exception of Saturday's 5-2 win over Vermont. The Big Green have outscored their opponents 13-4 with Wyatt Omsberg leading the way with three goals. Justin Donawa and Eduvie Ikoba match his point total of six, with Donawa the team leader in assists with four. Christopher Palacios is 4-1 with four shutouts, a 0.18 GAA and an .889 save percentage, and he got a rest last week in the Vermont game.
