Tigers Test Championship Course at Greater Louisville Classic

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (9/30/17) - The Princeton men's cross country team got a taste of the NCAA Championship course as it competed on the E.P. Tom Sawyer Park at the Greater Louisville Classic this morning.
The Tigers used pack running and finished 12th in the race with an average time of 25:02.26 on the 8k course for a total of 338 points.
Senior Noah Kauppila and Garrett O'Toole were the first two across the line at 25:00.21 and 25:00.45 to take 87th and 88th overall. Senior Rob Stone wasn't far behind in 91st with a 25:02.93 and was directly followed by freshman Matt Grossman at 25:03.49 and sophomore Gannon Willcutts at 25:04.22. Sophomore Viraj Deokar clocked in three seconds later at 25:07.29.
Top ranked Northern Arizona won the meet with 19 points, with four other ranked squads cometing as well.
The Tigers host the Princeton Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 14 at West Windsor Fields. It will be the final meet before Ivy League Heps on Friday, Oct. 27.
