A Look Back at Princeton's Ivy Weekend vs. Columbia and Cornell

PRINCETON, N.J. – Princeton currently sits 13-3 overall and 3-0 in the Ivy League after two decisive victories over the Columbia Lions and Cornell Big Red last weekend.

Let's take a look back at a few factors heading into the weekend …

Camille Zimmerman – The senior for Columbia was very good, recording 29 points on 9-of-15 shooting (60 percent). She made 11-of-13 free throws, however was 0-of-4 from beyond the arc. She added 10 rebounds, two blocks, but did turn the ball over six times.

Columbia's Three-Point Defense - Princeton dropped in six three-pointers on 19 attempts (31.6 percent) against Columbia on Friday. Gabrielle Rush made half of the Tigers' treys including two in the first quarter as the Tigers sprinted out to an 18-6 lead after 10 minutes.

Samantha Widmann – The sophomore had a game-high 17 points for Cornell on 5-of-9 (55.5 percent) from the floor. She posted a team-high seven rebounds along with three assists and three steals. In Princeton's 25-5 third quarter run that put the game out of reach, Widmann was held scoreless as the Tigers held the Big Red to one basket.

Cornell's Offense – The Big Red's offense was excellent in the second quarter, missing just one time in nine attempts. Cornell used a 12-5 spurt to close within three, 34-31, at the intermission. Princeton shut the door defensively in the third stanza as Cornell was just 1-of-11. The Big Red would not get within 20 the rest of the way.

Gabrielle Rush – The junior has contributed three straight 10+ point outings as she dropped in 11 points each against Columbia and Cornell. She has knocked down at least three three-pointers in the last three meetings as well.
