Princeton Receiving Votes In USA Today Coaches' Poll

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton Tigers are now receiving votes in the most recent USA Today Top-25 Coaches' Poll, the organization announced today.

The Tigers earned two voting points, despite not playing last week, behind a 13-3 record and current seven-game winning streak. It's the first time that Princeton received votes in the poll since Jan. 4, 2016.

Connecticut collected all 32 first place votes and sits atop of the poll. Mississippi State, Baylor, Louisville, and Notre Dame followed.

Princeton has ran off seven consecutive wins and a 13-3 mark behind the 10th ranked scoring defense in the country (54.9). The Tigers also sit No. 40 nationally in three-point field goal defense (28.4) and 58th in scoring margin (+10.6).

Bella Alarie leads the squad in scoring and has recorded three Ivy Player of the Week selections in the last five weeks. The sophomore has been outstanding this season, shooting 51.9 percent from the floor including a current stretch of six contests with at least 50 percent shooting. She's averaging 15.8 points, 9.2 rebounds, 2.3 blocks, 1.3 steals per game.

The Tigers get back in action next week, heading on the road to take on Yale (Feb. 2) and Brown (Feb. 3). The Yale contest will tip off at 6 p.m., and the Brown game will get underway at 4 p.m. Both games will be streamed on the Ivy League Network.
