No. 14 Princeton Goes 2-0 To Open Crimson Invite

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The No. 14 Princeton Tigers picked up two wins during their first day of the Crimson Invitational, dropping the University of Toronto in an exhibition, 14-8, before beating the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Stags, 14-9, in the nightcap.

Even at 2-all, Princeton rolled off three straight goals, taking a 5-2 lead after eight minutes. A goal from Toronto with eight seconds to go in the first half set the halftime score at 6-4 Princeton.
After the two squads exchanged goals to begin the second half, Logan MacDonell and Andrew Lin tallies gave the Tigers a 9-5 lead after 24 minutes.
In front by four (10-6) as the clock read 5:27 to go in the game, Princeton ran off four of the next five goals over a three-minute stretch to secure the victory.

Princeton got goals from MacDonell, Michael Swart and Matt Payne to complete the scoring in the first quarter to go in front, 4-1. The Tigers scored two of the next three tallies in the second frame, jumping ahead by four (6-2) before taking a 7-3 advantage into halftime.
The Tigers, again, started off quickly as the second half got underway, rolling off a 3-1 stretch, reaching the double-digit mark (10-4) with 3:26 left in the stanza. After two straight goals from CMS, tallies from Payne and Davis Wachtell gave the Tigers their 11th and 12th goals of the matchup.

Head coach Dustin Litvak's squad held the Stags without a goal for the final 5:50 of game time to earn its 11th victory of the season.
