Quinn, Tigers Close Fall Season With Georgetown Invite Titles
October 16, 2018 | Men's Golf
The names at the top of the team and individual leaderboards at the Georgetown Invitational at Four Streams in Beallsville, Md., didn't change from the end of 36 holes to the end of 54, and both the Princeton men's golf team and junior Evan Quinn were able to close the fall season as champions.
Princeton finished at +4 to lead runner-up Seton Hall by six strokes in the 12-team field, and Quinn finished at -7 to outdo Butler's Logan Sabins by three strokes. Rookie Max Ting took third as the only other player than Quinn and Sabins to be under par, finishing at -3.
It's Quinn's first tournament title at Princeton and the Tigers' first team title since winning the Georgetown event in 2015.
Quinn's 36 holes Monday included a 65 that tied the competitive course record, was the lowest score for any Tiger in a round in eight years and was the tournament low for a round by two strokes. For the event, Quinn had 14 birdies, parred 34 holes and made bogey on just five and double bogey on only one.
