Connors Records Hat Trick as Princeton Takes Down Brown, 7-2

Freshman Maggie Connors recorded her first career hat trick in just her fourth game as Princeton defeated Brown 7-2 on Saturday at Hobey Baker Rink.
The Tigers went 2-0 in the opening ECAC Hockey weekend, after a 4-1 win over Yale yesterday.
Princeton grabbed an early 2-0 lead with goals from Sarah Verbeek and Connors in the game's first 5:02. Junior defender Claire Thompson net her first of the season on the power play to give Princeton a 3-0 lead at the first intermission.
Princeton was 2 for 9 on the power play with freshman Sarah Fillier converting midway through the second as the Tigers took a 4-0 lead.
Shay Maloney's power-play goal three minutes later broke the shutout for freshman Cassie Reale - making her debut in goal. Reale finished her first game with 17 saves in the win.
After a four-goal game yesterday, junior Carly Bullock tacked on another this weekend as she fired in a Sharon Frankel face off in the opening minutes of the third frame.
After Bridget Carey's goal at 3:51, Connors scored back-to-back goals for the hat trick and delivering the final knock out.
Hayley Kliczko made 16 saves and allowed three goals in the first period for Brown. Calla Isaac came in on relief and made 39 saves with four goals allowed.
