October 29, 2018 | Men's Tennis
Princeton freshman Karl Poling will continue play at the USTA Futures event in Alabama Tuesday when he opens play in the main doubles draw.
Poling will play alongside fellow New Yorker Cannon Kingsley and will open against a pairing of China's Chenhe Li and another New Yorker, Neel Rajesh, in the second match on court following a 1 p.m. CT/2 p.m. ET match. There are 16 pairs in the main doubles draw, and the seeded pair in Poling's quadrant is an American duo, North Carolina alum Robert Kelly and UCF alum Korey Lovett, who are seeded fourth. Poling and Kingsley would meet Kelly and Lovett if each wins their round-of-16 match.
Poling's singles run ended in the first qualifying round, when he lost a three-set battle to Mwendwa Mbithi.
