EYE ON THE TIGERS
Princeton is looking to right the ship after coming up 0-3 in its last three games. The Tigers most recently took No. 4 UMass to overtime but fell 3-2 in the extra time. At 3-4-1 on the season Princeton is ranked No. 19 in the national poll. With a 3-2-1 mark in the ECAC, the Tigers are second behind Quinnipiac. Princeton's special teams have been solid all season and hey have the top ranked combined special teams at 62.5 percent with the penalty kill first and the power play second. Princeton is averaging 3.12 goals per game with senior Ryan Kuffner leading the way with seven goals in eight games to rank second in the nation in goals per game. He has 14 points total with linemate Max Veronneau three points back with 11 points. Veronneau is fourth in assists in the nation with nine in eight games. The center of that line Alex Riche has eight points along with senior defenseman Josh Teves. Junior Jackson Cressey follows with seven points. Sophomore Ryan Ferland owns a .917 save percentage and a 2.69 GAA in the eight games he has played.
SCOUTING THE BOBCATS
Quinnipiac is ranked 10th in the nation with an 11-2 overall record and unbeaten in its last four games. With a 4-2 mark in league play Quinnipiac is in first place in the ECAC Hockey standings. The Bobcats have the sixth-best scoring offense, averaging 3.77 goals per game led by sophomore Odeen Tufto. Tufto has 18 points on nine goals and nine assists. Following him on the scoring list are defensemen Chase Priskie (WSH) with 16 points on eight goals and eight assists and Brandon Fortunato with two goals and 13 helpers. They've helped the Bobcats hold opponents to just 1.85 goals per game - the fourth best scoring defense nationally. Sophomore Keith Petruzzelli (DET) has started in nine games and has a .913 save percentage and a 2.01 GAA. Junior Andrew Shortridge has made four appearance in goal this season. The team's power play is ninth at 24.6 percent (15/61) and the penalty kill is seventh at 87.5 percent (42/48).
THE PRINCETON/QUINNIPIAC SERIES
Quinnipiac has a three-game edge in the all-time series, that began in 2005, standing at 15-12-1. Princeton does have the slight advantage in Hamden at 8-6 and has won three of the last four meetings including two at the TD Bank Sports Center. Last year the teams split with the Bobcats taking a 6-2 game at Hobey Baker Rink in November before the Tigers took a 5-3 game in January on the road.
