No. 9 Quinnipiac defeated No. 19 Princeton 3-0 in Game 1 of a home-and-home series on Friday night at the People's United Center.
It marked the first time since Jan. 6, 2018 that the Tigers have been held off the scoreboard. They'll play for the weekend split when they host the Bobcats tomorrow night at 7 p.m., at Hobey Baker Rink.
Quinnipiac was quick to convert on its first power-play opportunity, winning the draw straight back with Chase Priskie firing in the goal with just five seconds remaining in the first period.

Princeton thought it had tied the game with a goal by Max Véronneau but after review the officials signaled no goal as goaltender Andrew Shortridge had knocked the net off.

Princeton had another great chance to score on the power play midway through the third but came up empty. A minute later the Bobcats capitalized on a Michael Lombardi poke check to halt a break out as the the Bobcats came back into the zone with Scott Davidson going glove side on Ryan Ferland to make it 2-0.

The Bobcats added an empty net goal at 18:54 with Odeen Tufto scoring.
Ferland made 31 saves in net for the Tigers, and Shortridge stopped 21 for the Bobcats.
Princeton was 0 for 3 on the power play, while Quinnipiac was 1 for 2.
