Princeton Opens Competition At Bruno Invitational; Saturday Set For 10 AM Start

DAY 1 RESULTS
Both the Princeton men's and women's swimming and diving teams opened the 2018 Brown Invitational Friday at the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center. The Princeton men hold a slim 314-304 lead over Columbia after the opening day, while the Princeton women stand in third with 175.5 points, though the majority of the meet is still to come.
After the quartet of Izzy Reis, Cathy Teng, Vivian Wang and Courtney Tseng opened the finals session with a fourth-place finish in the 200 free relay (1:32.53), senior Monica McGrath added a fourth-place finish of her own in the 500 free (4:53.54).
Both Reis and Regan Barney made the final in the 200 IM; Reis took sixth in 2:01.24, while Barney placed eighth in 2:01.33. Both Joanna Curry (2:01.00) and Wang (2:01.69) added top-10 finishes for Princeton in the event. Teng was Princeton's top finisher in the 50 free, as she placed sixth in 23.37. She also anchored the quartet of Wang, Julia Brazeau and Reis, which finished fourth in the 400 medley relay in 3:43.20.
The Princeton men's relay of Christian Feiler, Murphy McQuet, Tyler Lin, and Joshua Brown opened the finals by taking second in the 200 free relay in 1:20.45; Feiler later added a third-place finish in the 50 free in 20.18.
Freshman Jonathan Pollack followed that with a fourth-place finish in the 500 free (4:27.85), and classmate Raunak Khosla continued his impressive debut season by winning the 200 IM in 1:45.46. Princeton had three in the top five of the event; junior Derek Cox took third in 1:47.59, while sophomore Charles Leibson finished fifth in 1:48.50.
Princeton went 1-2-3 in the 1-meter diving event. Sophomore Colten Young took the win with 333.55 points, while junior Charlie Minns (304.40) and senior Aaron Ach (261.80) took the next two spots.
The quartet of Cole Buese, Tyler Lin, Matt Harrington and Feiler ended the night by finishing fourth in the 400 medley relay in 3:16.90.
