With Ivy Weekend Ahead, Fencing Teams Head to Northwestern Duals
February 01, 2018 | Men's Fencing, Women's Fencing
With the Ivy League round-robin competition in Jadwin Gym just two weekends away, the Princeton fencing teams will head to Notre Dame for the Northwestern Duals, an event the Tigers have competed in annually since 2010.
As was the case last year, the even will be held at Notre Dame this year due to facility renovations at Northwestern.
Princeton will be competing only Saturday this year, though the event will continue Sunday. It'll be a Saturday with three top-10 contests for each of the Tiger teams, with the women ranked fourth and the men sixth in the CollegeFencing360.com poll. Notre Dame is ranked first in both polls, with Ohio State second on the men's side and fifth on the women's. Northwestern, ranked eighth, is a women's opponent, and Stanford, ranked 10th, is on both schedules but ranked only on the men's side.
Princeton's schedule for Saturday is below. When the Ivy round-robin event comes to Jadwin next weekend, the Tigers will face Yale (10 a.m.) and Columbia (11:45 a.m.) Saturday and Cornell (10 a.m.), Penn (11:45 a.m.), Brown (2:15 p.m.) and Harvard (4 p.m.) Sunday.
