Tigers Top Brown to Make Sunday's ECAC Final in Jadwin
February 10, 2018 | Women's Tennis
The host for this year's ECAC women's tennis championship will be playing in the event's final Sunday at 2 p.m.
Princeton won its semifinal match Saturday 4-2 over Brown to make the final and keep its perfect start to the season going, setting up a match against Dartmouth.
The Tigers are 5-0 for the first time since 1975, and this will be Princeton's fourth trip to the ECAC final since first competing in the event in 2009. Princeton last made the event final in 2012.
The Tigers opened with a sweep of the doubles point that saw Princeton yield only three games in the two matches it won to clinch the point, and though Brown opened singles play with wins at third and fourth, Tiffany Chen gave Princeton its second point with a straight-set win at sixth singles. Princeton's two ITA-ranked singles players, Katrine Steffensen and Stephanie Schrage, then closed out wins on the first two courts to get the third and fourth points.
