Princeton Completes 3-0 Ivy Week With 74-46 Takedown At Columbia

NEW YORK – The Princeton Tigers (19-4, 9-1 Ivy) finished off a 3-0 Ivy League week with a 74-46 takedown of the Columbia Lions (7-18, 1-9 Ivy) on Saturday afternoon at Levien Gymnasium.

Leslie Robinson missed just three shots in 10 attempts, securing a team-high 14 points, along with eight rebounds and five assists. Carlie Littlefield added 12 points, five assists and four rebounds. Abby Meyers dropped in 12 points and seven boards off the bench in the victory.

The Tigers started off on fire as they made six straight buckets, taking an 13-4 advantage at the 6:25 mark. This time, Columbia went on a run, registering seven of nine, to close within two, 15-13 at the end of the frame.

Consecutive three-pointers from Gabrielle Rush and Meyers put Princeton in front by eight, 21-13, just three minutes into second quarter, however the Lions kept within striking distance. Princeton gained separation with 11 straight over the final 3:12 of the first half to take a 36-20 lead into the break. Robinson was 6-of-8 from the floor in the first 20 minutes, snagging 12 of her 14 points. Â

Princeton kept Columbia at bay in the third quarter as it led by as many as 22 before taking a 53-38 advantage into the final stanza. The Tigers were 8-of-11 (72.7 percent) to begin the second half. The Tigers were never threatened in the final frame as they held the Lions to eight points and three baskets in that span.

Camille Zimmerman and Riley Casey each scored 10 points to lead Columbia. Zimmerman, the top scorer in the Ivy League, was just 3-of-18 (16.7 percent) shooting. Zimmerman also contributed nine rebounds and eight assists in the loss. The Lions' 28.8 percent shooting was its second lowest of the season.

Head coach Courtney Banghart's team goes back on the road next week at Dartmouth (Feb. 23) and Harvard (Feb. 24). Both games will take place at 7 p.m. and be streamed on the Ivy League Network. The Harvard matchup will be televised on NESN+.
