Princeton Closes Spring Trip with Win at Florida Gulf Coast
March 25, 2018 | Men's Tennis
The three-match trip to Florida for the Princeton men's tennis team ended with a win Sunday as the Tigers won four singles matches to get a 4-3 win at Florida Gulf Coast.
"It was a gut check today after losing the doubles point," Princeton coach Billy Pate said. "FGCU played hard and inspired on their home courts. I thought our guys did a great job of managing the slower courts and warmer conditions. We had to rally, but grabbing the momentum with five first sets was a huge boost. We're pleased to finish this trip on a positive note heading into Ivy League play."
Davey Roberts on court four, Ryan Seggerman on court two and Kial Kaiser on court one all won their matches to get Princeton up 3-1 after the Tigers dropped the doubles point, and Luke Gamble's win on court three provided the clincher (video below).
The Tigers will start the seven-match run through the league Saturday at Penn.
