Boone Named Ivy Rookie of the Week; Lee-Tyson Selected as GPT Athlete of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Jake Boone was selected as the Ivy League Rookie of the Week while Asher Lee-Tyson was honored as the Suburban Transit/GoPrincetonTigers.com Athlete of the Week.

Boone made the most of his nine at-bats, registering four hits. In game two of the doubleheader on Saturday vs. Cornell, the freshman had three hits and three runs scored and a stolen base. He added two more runs on Sunday, finishing with five runs for the week. After beginning the season 2-for-20 (.100), Boone has eight hits in last 22 at-bats (.363).

Lee-Tyson had a hit in every game this week, going 6-for-13. He also walked four times, finishing with a .462/.538/.611 slash line. The senior finished with two runs scored in a win over Rutgers. He had four hits in the doubleheader vs. Cornell including three hits in a game two victory. The senior had a knock and two walks in Sunday's game and also made the last out on this impressive play …

Princeton will take on the Monmouth Hawks on Thursday at Clarke Field. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
