No. 10 Michigan Takes Down No. 10 Princeton in CWPA Title Game, 11-8

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Behind an impressive first quarter, the No. 10 Michigan Wolverines (32-8) earned their third straight Collegiate Water Polo Association Championship with a 11-8 victory over the No. 10 Princeton Tigers (23-8) on Sunday afternoon.
Highlights:
Michigan scored six times in the first quarter.
The Tigers trailed by as many as six, but rallied to get within two on several occasions.
Haley Wan registered four goals in the loss.

The Wolverines snagged the first three goals of the game as Princeton finally got on the scoreboard with 3:42 remaining the first quarter. Michigan's largest lead of the game was six as the clock ticked under five minutes left in the first half (8-2). Princeton went into the break down 8-3.
Head coach Becca Dorst's squad went on a run at the end of the third stanza, scoring the last three goals to get within two, 9-7. The two teams exchanged tallies as the fourth frame got underway, however the Tigers were scoreless over the last 5:59 of game action, sealing the victory for Michigan.
Wan and Chelsea Johnson were named to the CWPA Championship All-Tournament first team. Marissa Webb was selected as the Rookie of the Tournament while Dorst was selected as the Doc Hunkler Coach of the Tournament.
