Princeton Baseball In the Pros: Barnes Continues Stellar Month Of April

PRINCETON, N.J. – Danny Barnes remains a stellar arm for the Toronto Blue Jays in the bullpen as the month of April comes to an end.

Barnes actually gave up an earned run on Wednesday for the first time in three weeks, giving up two vs. the Boston Red Sox. The next night, he worked a scoreless outing vs. the Red Sox, striking out a batter. In 14 games, Barnes has 2.08 ERA with 15 strikeouts in 13 innings.

Matt Bowman '14 – St. Louis Cardinals (MLB) – After giving up a combined three runs in back-to-back outings, the reliever has been unscored upon in his last two contests. He got one batter out against the New York Mets on Thursday before 1 1/3 innings of work against the Pittsburgh Pirates the next night.

David Hale '11 – MLB – It's been an interesting week for Hale to say the least. On Monday, the former Tiger threw two scoreless frames against the Minnesota Twins for the New York Yankees. The next day, he was designated for assignment and was then picked up by the Twins on Thursday. On Friday, he pitched against the Cincinnati Reds before being designated for assignment by Minnesota.

Mike Ford '14 – Scranton/Wilkes Barre RailRiders (AAA) – Ford had a modest five-game hitting streak come to an end on Sunday in a doubleheader vs. the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs. On Monday, Ford had three hits and scored twice while ripping a three-run double on Wednesday against the Columbus Clippers.
