Dockx, Donahey, Meyer Earn Team Honors at Annual Banquet

Senior Danielle Dockx, sophomore Megan Donahey and freshman Mackenzie Meyer earned the Princeton softball team's honors Thursday night at the team's annual banquet.
Dockx, who split time between second base and shortstop this season, won the Cindy Cohen Award, given to the senior who through sportsmanship, dedication and consistent effort has been an inspiration to her teammates. Dockx, a tri-captain, played in 35 games and started 32 while hitting .304 this season to earn All-Ivy honors for the first time in her career, receiving honorable mention.Â
Donahey, an outfielder who earned All-Ivy League honors for the second time in as many seasons with the program, won the Patton-Poole Award, given to the player who in play, sportsmanship and influence has been most valuable to the team. A second-team all-league honoree, Donahey led Princeton with a .328 average on 45 hits in 137 at-bats, also team-bests.
Meyer, an outfielder who earned first-team All-Ivy League recognition in her first season with the team, led the Tigers with seven home runs to tie a program freshman record and drove in a team-best 18 runs. Meyer was presented with the Kathy Kobler Garrett '91 Award, given to the player whose generosity, positive attitude, genuine consideration for for others, and quiet energy makes her essential to the success of the team.
