Dietrick '15 Makes Atlanta Dream Opening Day Roster

ATLANTA – For the second time in her professional career, Blake Dietrick '15 has made an Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) opening night roster as the Atlanta Dream announced their official roster for the start of the 2018 season.
"It's a complete honor and privilege to be playing among the best players in the world," said Dietrick "I wouldn't be here without my amazing teammates and coaching staff at Princeton, I can't thank them enough. This is the product of a lot of hard work and some long seasons overseas just trying to get better and I plan to show that on the court this summer!"

"I couldn't be prouder of Blake and the exciting opportunity she has again earned to wear the WNBA jersey," said Princeton head coach Courtney Banghart. "Blake has always been a great athlete and competitor. She has worked so hard to hone her skill as a basketball player, committing fully to her dream of playing at the very highest level. There are 144 total WNBA players in the world, and she is again one of them. Watching one of my own make her dream a reality is a highlight of this profession to be sure. Blake is proving that if you commit to the process, the sky can be the limit. It doesn't any better than that."
Dietrick has played for AO Dafni Agioy Dimitrioy of the Greece League and the Bendigo Spirit of the Australian National Basketball League. In 2016, she became the second Ivy League player ever to make a WNBA roster as she made the Seattle Storm's opening night roster.

During her senior campaign, Dietrick helped the Tigers to one of the greatest seasons in Ivy League history. Princeton had an unblemished 30-0 regular season, won its fifth Ivy League title in six years, and won the program's first ever NCAA Tournament game. The guard averaged career-highs in points (15.1), assists (4.9), and rebounds (4.5) per game en route to Associated Press and WBCA Honorable Mention All-America honors. A seven-time Ivy Player of the Week, she was the conference's unanimous choice for Player of the Year. Setting a single-season program record for assists (157), her 483 points in 2014-15 are tied for the third highest total in school history.
A two-time first-team All-Ivy selection, Dietrick is ranked fourth on the Princeton charts in three-pointers made (210) and three-point shooting percentage (.395). Sitting fourth in assists (346) and 12th in scoring (1,233), she poured in a team-high 26 points on 10-of-18 shooting in her final collegiate contest, a NCAA second-round loss to eventual Final Four participant Maryland.

Banghart has had six players sign a professional contract in Dietrick, Leslie Robinson '18, Annie Tarakchian '16, Devon Allgood '12, Addie Micir '11, Niveen Rasheed '13.
