Rookie Meyer Leads Four Tigers on All-Ivy Teams

Freshman outfielder Mackenzie Meyer has been named to the first-team All-Ivy League to lead four Tiger honorees, the Ivy League announced Wednesday when it revealed its 2018 All-Ivy League teams.

It's the third consecutive year the Tigers have placed a freshman on the first-team All-Ivy, along with first baseman Kaylee Grant in 2016 and outfielder Megan Donahey in 2017.

Meyer was second on the team in batting average on the season overall at .326, driving in a team-best 18 runs while playing in 34 of the team's 39 games and starting 28 of those. Meyer's 60 total bases led the team, as did her seven home runs to tie a freshman program record. All seven of the home runs came over the team's final 21 games, a span that saw Meyer raise her batting average 34 points from .292 on March 24.

Sophomore outfielder Donahey and sophomore shortstop Allison Harvey were named second-team All-Ivy League. It's the second straight All-Ivy honor for Donahey, a first-teamer last yer, and for Harvey, who was the Ivy League Rookie of the Year last season while being named second-team all-league.

Donahey had a team-best .328 batting average this season with a team-best 45 hits, and Harvey hit .300 with 36 hits, sharing the team lead in doubles with six and standing second on the team with 16 runs batted in.

Harvey overcame a tough start to the season to raise her batting average from .158 on March 9 more than 100 points to .262 by month's end. Donahey had a season-long six-game hitting streak in late April and into May before seeing it snap in the season finale.

Senior infielder Danielle Dockx earned her first All-Ivy recognition by being named honorable mention All-Ivy. Dockx posted her best batting average as a Tiger during her senior year, hitting .304 with a career-best .405 slugging percentage with six doubles and a triple among her 24 hits.
