Lightweights Draw Glasgow University, Will Open Henley Early On Fourth Of July

The Princeton lightweight men, one of eight selected crews entered into the 2018 Temple Challenge Cup field, will open their Henley Royal Regatta competition the morning of July 4. The Tigers, racing from the Bucks Station, will take on Glasgow University at 11:35 am local time (6:35 am ET) in the program's first Henley race since 2009. The Temple Challenge Cup reached its 32-boat capacity, and five of the eight selected crews are American collegiate programs, including top heavyweight programs like Washington, Yale, and Brown. The earliest that Princeton could meet one of those programs would be during the quarterfinal session Friday, when the IRA silver medalists could row against a Yale heavyweight crew comprised mainly of rowers from its top three varsity boats (the Yale heavyweight 1V won the IRA national championship).
If Princeton is able to advance past Glasgow on Wednesday, the Tiger lightweights would face the winner of the University of London/Pembroke College & Clare, Cambridge showdown on Thursday,
