Ivy Champ Princeton to Play on ESPNU Oct. 14
August 15, 2018 | Women's Soccer
A year ago, it was Princeton's lone Ivy League loss, and after that, the Tigers didn't falter again until the NCAA quarterfinals.
This fall, the rematch against Columbia will be on TV, with the Tigers and Lions playing at Columbia Sunday, Oct. 14 at 3 p.m. on ESPNU. It'll be the fifth straight season Princeton has had a game on ESPNU.
With the TV announcement comes a schedule change, as the game was originally scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 13.
The Lions return all but one of their goal-scorers from last year with 2017 leading scorer Natalie Neshat (nine), who had one of the two goals in Columbia's 2-0 win at Princeton last year, as the lone departure among the scorers. Princeton brings back the scorers of 37 of its 44 goals from last year, a group headed by MAC Hermann Trophy Preseason Watch List honoree junior Abby Givens (12), senior Mimi Asom (10) and junior Courtney O'Brien (nine).Â
Princeton enters the 2018 season ranked No. 13 in the country in the United Soccer Coaches preseason poll and will begin the campaign Friday, Aug. 24 at New Hampshire.
