No. 13 Princeton Gets 2018 Started at Navy
August 30, 2018 | Men's Water Polo
PRINCETON, N.J. – The Dustin Litvak era gets underway at the 2018 Navy Open this weekend. The No. 13 Princeton Tigers start the season vs. Johns Hopkins on Saturday at 2 p.m.
The Tigers also take on Wagner on Saturday (7 p.m.) before a contest vs. the host, Navy, on Sunday at 9 a.m. Princeton is 44-5 all-time against Johns Hopkins, having won 14 straight games dating back to 2011. The Tigers have won all three games in program history against Wagner and have not lost to Navy since 2013 (nine straight wins).
One of the biggest changes to Princeton in 2018 will be at head coach. Litvak was hired as head coach, replacing Luis Nicolao in June. He has spent the previous five seasons at UCLA, helping with the men's and women's water polo programs. Derek Ellingson was promoted to the women's head coaching position. Cara Borkovec was named an assistant to both teams in August.
