September 16, 2018 | Field Hockey

Delaware produced two corners in the first seven minutes of the contest, but no shots on the cage. The Tigers' first scoring threat came off the stick of Ali McCarthy in the 12th minute, but the shot was high.
Â
After not getting through on two corners, Clara Roth drew a penalty stroke for Princeton in the 17th minute. Julianna Tornetta registered her first goal of the contest, putting by Sydney Rhodes.

Greta Nauck responded in the 24th minute, getting the ball through directly off a corner. The Tigers looked immediately for an answer on the next possession, but a defensive save from Delaware's Lotte de Koning kept the score tied at 1-all.
Â
Soon after dribbling into the cage, Roth ripped a shot towards the goalie that found the stick of McCarthy and snuck through to give the Tigers a 2-1 lead with four minutes remaining in the first half.

Nauck was seeking her second goal of the contest right before the half, but her shot was wide. She later contributed on the Blue Hens' second goal as her shot was deflected in by Femke Strien just four minutes into the second stanza.
Â
Princeton could not produce a goal despite four straight corner tries, but snagged two tallies over a 65-second span with 17 minutes left in the contest. Hannah Davey sent the ball towards the cage that MaryKate Neff corralled. Neff, in a 1v1 spot with Rhodes, shot it by to put the Tigers in front, 3-2.

This time, it was the Tornetta sisters that connected to give Princeton an insurance goal. Sophia Tornetta picked up a loose ball along the goal-line and sent it back to Julianna, who whipped it through for her second of the day. It's her third career multi-goal game.
