Tigers Home Opener Set for Saturday

After starting the season with three consecutive away games, the Princeton men's soccer team plays its home opener on Satuday night against Monmouth. Game time is at 7 p.m., at Myslik Field at Roberts Stadium and admission is free.
Princeton is coming off of a 2-0 shutout of Delaware from Wednesday night that gave the Tigers their first win of the season. Senior Sean McSherry leads the offense with four points, scoring one goal and two assists. Junior Danny Hampton and sophomore Gaby Paniagua have one goal apiece. Junior Jacob Schahner has a 1.00 goals against average and a .667 save percentage - making six saves on nine shots.
It's been seven seasons since these two teams last met, a 2-1 Hawks win in West Long Branch. Overall the series is tied at 3-3-1, with Princeton's last win coming in 2001.
Monmouth comes into Princeton looking for its first win with an 0-3-1 record. The squad lost its first three gams of the season - to Denver, Lafayette and Penn before playing Binghamton to a draw on Tuesday. The Hawks have scored in just one game this season while allowing 2.00 goals per game. Luke Bromley and Ramon Bernad have been the team's two goal scorer while Michael Luke assisted on both tallies. Sean Murray has played every minute in goal and has a 1.85 GAA and a .704 save percentage with 19 saves and eight goals allowed.
