2020 Schedule
Before the Princeton softball team takes its first swings at its new temporary home next to Clarke Field, the Tigers will head to George Washington, Houston and Florida to begin the 2020 season.
Those trips, along with the 21-game Ivy League slate, complement non-league games against Rider and Lehigh on the road and Monmouth at home.
The season will open with a Houston-hosted tournament from Feb. 21-23 that includes games against three 2019 NCAA tournament opponents in Louisiana Tech, Texas Tech and Houston.Â
A trip to D.C. will followon the final weekend of February, followed by a seven-game spring trip to Florida that includes a game against another 2019 NCAA tournament team in Bethune-Cookman.
Once home, Princeton will face a fourth 2019 NCAA tournament team in Monmouth on campus on April 22 after heading to the Ivy's 2019 NCAA tournament rep, Harvard, April 18-19.
The 2020 home slate will begin April 4 against Brown, and the regular season will wrap up May 3 against Dartmouth, also in Princeton. The Ivy League Championship Series will follow the next weekend at the home field of the team with the best Ivy record following the 21-game Ivy season.
Princeton returns two of the three players who finished with a batting average above .300 in senior outfielder Megan Donahey (.385, 45 hits) and senior infielder Allison Harvey (.305, 35 hits). Donahey and Harvey are two of the six players back who started at least 20 games last season. In the circle, Princeton returns 215 2/3 of its 248 2/3 innings last year in junior Allie Reynolds and sophomore Ali Blanchard.
