Men's Soccer Team Draws With Cornell

Walker Gillespie had his team-best sixth goal of the season, heading one in to take the lead over Cornell less than eight minutes into the game, but the Princeton men's soccer team had to settle for a draw with the Big Red, 1-1 Saturday evening at Roberts Stadium.
With the tie, Princeton stands four Ivy standings points back of leader Yale with two games to play.
Gillespie's goal came when Frankie DeRosa sent a pass into the box to Gillespie, who, between two Cornell defenders, headed the ball past a drawn-out Big Red keeper Ryan Shellow to put Princeton in front.
The 1-0 Tiger lead stood until the 67th minute, when Cornell's John Scearce headed it in to tie the game. That's where it stayed for the final 43-plus minutes.
Princeton will head to Penn for a 7 p.m. game next Saturday night.
