Men’s & Women’s Swimming & Diving Prevails in Season Openers at FAU

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Princeton University men's & women's swimming & diving teams opened their seasons on a high note Friday night as they both defeated Florida Atlantic University.
Princeton's men won with a score of 204.5 – 95.5 while Princeton's women prevailed 165.5 – 134.5.
The Tigers earned 18 first-place finishes during the meet and put forth several other strong performances.
In the relays on the men's side, the team of Sam Cuthbert , Corey Lau, Nicholas Lim and Raunak Khosla took first in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:33.21 seconds. In the 200 freestyle relay Derek Cox, Max Walther, Jonathan Pollock and Charles Leibson clocked in at 1:23.13 seconds to finish first.
Raunak touched the wall at 1:41.04 seconds in the 200 freestyle to earn a first place finish, Cuthbert won the 100 backstroke with a time of 51.24 and Daniel Arris prevailed in the 100 breaststroke in 56.43.
In the 200 butterfly, Lim finished with a time of 1:49.17 to earn the victory while Cox touched the wall at 20.84 in the 50 freestyle to take first. Pollock's time of 46.35 in the 100 freestyle saw him finish first while Khosla also won the 200 backstroke in 1:51.77 seconds.
The 200 breaststroke saw Arris come out on top, clocking in at 2:05.51 seconds while Khosla's final individual victory of the night came in the 400 IM where he touched the wall at 3:57.87 seconds.
Princeton's women also swept the relays; Nicole Venema, Vivian Wang, Christina Bradley and Ellie Marquardt won the 200 medley relay in 1:44.50 seconds while the team of Amelia Liu, Bradley, Marquardt and Venema prevailed in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:34.66 seconds.
Addison Smith won the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:51.85 seconds, Marquardt prevailed in the 200 butterfly after clocking in at 2:01.56 seconds and Liu finished first in the 50 freestyle after touching the wall at 23.75.
Wang's time of 53.20 in the 100 freestyle saw her earn the win while Julia Brazeau won the 200 backstroke in 2:22.86 seconds. Venema touched the wall at 55.94 in the 100 butterfly to earn a first place finish.
