Davidson, Tyler Share Top Award At Princeton Football Banquet

Kevin Davidson and Jeremiah Tyler shared the Poe-Kazmaier Trophy, the highest award for the Princeton football program, at the team's annual Donold B. Lourie '22 banquet Sunday afternoon.

Davidson, the senior quarterback, made the most of his one season as the team's starter, throwing for 2,569 yards and 20 touchdowns while leading the Tigers to an 8-2 record. The 2,569 yards through the air were the fifth-highest single-season total in program history and the second-best in the last 36 years; his 20 TD passes are the fourth-best single-season total Princeton has had.

Tyler, a junior linebacker, led the Ivy League and was 26th in the FCS in tackles for loss (1.5 per game), and his 62 tackles were second on the team. He also had 3.5 sacks and an interception and fumble recovery.

Keith Elias, the all-time leading rusher in program history, presented the Poe-Kazmaier Trophy.

Among the highlights of the banquet was the presence of Trey Gray, the sophomore running back who was injured in the game against Penn Saturday and spent the night in the hospital. Gray received a long ovation from his teammates and the other guests at the event.
