Jeremiah Tyler Named To Buchanan Award Watchlist
November 07, 2019 | Football
Jeremiah Tyler's 2019 football season has basically been one extended highlight reel from his outside linebacker position.
Tyler, the Ivy League leader in tackles for loss, has not gone unnoticed at all. The junior from Detroit, in fact, was named to the watchlist for the Buck Buchanan Award, given to the outstanding defensive player in the FCS.
Tyler is second on the current Princeton defense and seventh in the Ivy League in tackles with 47, a number that is just two away from third in the league. He also leads the league and is fourth in the FCS in tackles for loss (1.8 per game), and his resume this year includes 3.5 sacks, an interception and a fumble recovery.
Princeton, 7-0 and ranked ninth in the FCS, takes on unbeaten Dartmouth, ranked 13th, Saturday at 3:30 at Yankee Stadium. Dartmouth defensive back Isiah Swann is also on the Buchanan watchlist.
