PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton University women's volleyball team reached double-figures in Ivy League victories Friday night inside Jadwin Gymnasium as it took down Dartmouth College 3-0 (25-11, 25-20, 25-23).
Senior Devon Peterkin continued her stellar play, posting a double-double and leading the match in both kills and digs with 18 and 13. Skov also had a double-double for the Tigers as she tallied 11 kills and 10 digs. Senior Jessie Harris had a match-high 40 assists while Skov and sophomore Cameron Dames each had one service aces. Junior Clare Lenihan led Princeton in blocks with two.
A kill by senior Maggie O'Connell got Princeton off to a strong start to the match as it would take an early 5-1 lead. Dartmouth was able to stay competitive in the early stages, but with Princeton up 11-9 it would go on a 7-0 run that put it in a comfortable position to win the set. The Tigers would close out the set with a kill by Peterkin as part of 4-0 run, prevailing 25-11.
The beginning of the second set was a back-and-forth battle but with the score tied 11-11 a kill by Harris sparked a 4-0 run that saw the Tigers take a 15-11 advantage. Lenihan would end the set with a kill as Princeton came out on top, 25-20.
The Big Green took a 3-2 advantage in the third set, but a 4-0 run by Princeton that featured a kill and an ace by Skov along with a pair of Dartmouth errors put the Tigers ahead 6-3. Dartmouth battled back to knot the score 11-11 but an O'Connell kill led off another 4-0 run that gave Princeton a 15-11 advantage from which they never looked back, taking the set 25-23 and the match 3-0.
