Women's Soccer Program Adds Kaitlyn Collin to Coaching Staff
February 21, 2019 | Women's Soccer
Kaitlyn Collin, a former Western Michigan and Michigan State goalkeeper, has joined the Princeton women's soccer coaching staff as an assistant coach.
Â
"We are very excited to add Kaitlyn to our coaching staff," Princeton coach Sean Driscoll said. "Between her interview with us and the incredible praise she has received from people she has played for and worked with, we believe we have secured the talents of a rising star in the game. Kaitlyn has a tremendous reputation for her work with goalkeepers, willingness to embrace all aspects of the job and a true hunger to excel in this profession. We are thankful that Kait chose our program and know that our student-athletes and Princeton will benefit from her mentality and passion."
Â
Collin replaces Jami Kranich, who accepted an assistant coaching position at Boston College.
Â
"Jami's departure is bittersweet," Driscoll said. "As she is someone I have known since her club soccer years, I have literally watched her grow from a tremendously talented youth player into an amazing human being and a terrific coach. While I will miss her, I am incredibly proud of Jami, appreciative of all she did for our program and immensely thankful that she has the opportunity to work alongside a top-notch person and coach in Jason Lowe."
Â
Since her graduation from Michigan State, Collin spent the 2017 season as an assistant coach at McNeese State and the 2018 season in New Jersey at Seton Hall.
Â
"I would like to thank Sean for the opportunity to join his staff at Princeton," Collin said. "It is an honor to work with such a powerful program at this prestigious university. I am very excited to work with the goalkeepers day-to-day and to help the team continue to compete for championships. Go Tigers!"
Â
McNeese goalkeeper Emma Rocaforte earned Southland Conference Goalkeeper of the Year in 2017 under Collin's tutelage.
Â
At Michigan State, Collin was the Spartans' starting goalkeeper in 2016 before suffering a season-ending injury after nine games. Her 6.44 per-game save average was 17th in the nation.
