The chance to go 4 for 4 against the Big Ten is ahead this weekend for the Princeton women's tennis team on a two-match trip to Maryland.
Princeton will take on Navy in Annapolis Friday at noon before heading inside the Beltway for a noon Saturday match at Maryland.
The Tigers, who have won five of their last six to stand at 7-3 and are ranked 48th in the nation as a team, went 2-0 last week against Big Ten opponents Rutgers and Indiana after opening the season in late January with a win over Michigan State.
With Ivy play approaching at the end of March, the Maryland trip includes two of the final five non-conference matches for the Tigers before the run through the league begins for the defending Ivy champs.
Princeton and Navy have never met, while the Tigers and Terps have played 17 times with Princeton winning 11. The teams have met each of the last two seasons with Maryland winning 5-2 in College Park in 2017 and Princeton winning 4-0 in Princeton last year.
Navy stands at 12-4 and has a 4-3 win over Maryland from Jan. 27. Maryland is 2-5 heading into a Friday visit from William & Mary ahead of Princeton's visit Saturday.
Grace Joyce leads the Tigers in dual-match wins at 7-2, including 5-0 at fourth, and Nathalie Rodilosso and Stephanie Schrage, co-lead the team in doubles wins at 6-1, all as a team between second and third doubles.
