Eleven Players Pick Up Points in 4-1 Win Over Yale

Eleven different Tigers made their way into the score sheet as Princeton toppled Yale 4-1 on Saturday night at Hobey Baker Rink.

Juniors Joey Fallon and Liam Grande both scored their first goals of the season while junior Jeremy Germain picked up his first point of the year. Senior Austin Shaw made 23 saves in the win and is now 2-0-1 this year.

Shuffling its lines gave Princeton a spark as the team came out of the locker room with a ton of energy. Senior defenseman Josh Teves was moved to a forward position on a line with Max Véronneau and Corey Andonovski and the the line nearly capitalized on its first shift. Senior Ryan Kuffner remained on a line with Alex Riche and was joined by junior Jackson Cressey at center. With all four lines getting in on the scoring, things were clicking for the Tigers tonight.

Trailing 1-0 after the first period, the Tigers kept at it and a relentless effort in front of the net paid off as Fallon put Princeton on the board at 12:06 of the middle frame.

Princeton scored three goals in the final 10 minutes of the game with Kuffner igniting the way with a rip top shelf.

Defenseman Reid Yochim had a great short-handed bid get denied by Sam Tucker but two minutes later helped set up the third goal. Yochim sent a cross-ice pass to Jake Paganelli who found a seam to Grande to make it 3-1 Princeton.

Princeton's all-time leading goal scorer Kuffner picked up his 70th career goal banking in an empty-net goal at 18:15.

Yale (11-9-3, 9-6-1) tried in vain to get a second goal, pulling Tucker and getting a 6x4 after a five-minute major was assessed to Derek Topatigh in the final two minutes but Shaw stood tall stopping three shots.

Princeton (7-14-2, 5-10-1) looks to keep rolling next weekend when it travels to Rensselaer and Union.
