A second battle of ITA top-50 teams went to No. 36 San Diego 4-1 Saturday against the 50th-ranked Princeton men's tennis team.
The Tigers will face 38th-ranked Harvard Sunday at San Diego State at 9:30 a.m. local time/12:30 p.m. Eastern Time to close the weekend.
"San Diego played a very good match on their home courts," Princeton coach Billy Pate said. "I was pleased with our doubles today but we didn't get anything going early enough in singles. We fought hard, made a late push and had some looks to give ourselves a shot. We'll look to rebound tomorrow and finish the weekend strong."
Princeton won the doubles point with wins from Payton Holden and Ryan Seggerman on court one and Justin Barki and Bill Duo on court three, but the Toreros took the first four singles matches to end.
